Let’s hope this isn’t our last game in the World Cup *knock on wood* 🤞

I spent 2018’s World Cup watching the games at Roosevelt’s Atlantic Crossing Pub. The place filled to bursting every day regardless of the match-up. And this was a bar full of Americans who weren’t even rooting for their own country because the US Men’s National Team (USMNT) didn’t make the cut. Picture this same atmosphere but with the USMNT playing.

With an average team age of 25 years and 175 days, only one guy on USMNT’s team has ever played in a World Cup. But this young, untested USMNT could be the real deal. Take the talented forward Christian Pulisic, a 24-year-old phenom who spends his non-World Cup days winning the Premier League on Chelsea F.C. His European fans have nicknamed him “Captain America.” Then there are the mid-fielders Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie (23 years old and 24 years old, respectively), who are players to watch and also lifelong best friends, which is cute.

There’s a chance that the USMNT could suck. The final group stage game for the USMNT against Iran could very well be their last game in the World Cup, depending on how they fare in their previous two games. At the time I’m typing this, I’ve got no idea. But you might as well go all out for this game against Iran. Do it at the Atlantic Crossing
