Team captain and catcher Cal Raleigh visited the injured list for the first time in his career, second baseman Cole Young has become the team’s new heartthrob, 20-year-old Colt Emerson has slotted nicely into the infield and the Mariners are blessed(?) with too many starting pitchers. We’re just about one-third of the way through the regular season and, while the Seattle Mariners’ record only hovers around .500 at the moment, they’re still but a hair from leading a very weak AL West.
Yeah yeah, let’s get to the free stuff. I WILL! RIGHT NOW! There are so many shirts and jerseys. Oodles of them. A whole closet’s worth of them. If you want to feel some Pride, purchase a special ticket for the June 1 game against the New York Mets for the jersey or the June 30 game against the Los Angeles Angels for a T-shirt. Are you jonesing for big, bruisin’ first baseman Josh Naylor? A special ticket to the June 17 game against the Baltimore Orioles nets you a “Tough as Taylz” tee.
Who’s got heritage? You do! For the Irish, get a special ticket for a branded windbreaker on June 2 (again, against da Mets). Are you Filipino AF? Do the same for their June 20 bout versus the Boston Red Sox for your own coveted windbreaker. Is Dominic Canzone one of your people? Italian Heritage Night is June 30 against the Halos and your special ticket offer gets you a dope-ass T-shirt.
As for giveaways, June might seem a little light… until you see what they’re offering. Be one of the first 15,000 fans to arrive for the June 18 game against Baltimore and you’ll be adding a stars and stripes soccer jersey to your collection. Meanwhile, the first 10,000 fans at the June 29, June 30 and July 1 sporting offerings will have a new treasure: a Cal Raleigh Pop! collectible! Shake him in your first as you boo the Angels, currently one of the worst teams in baseball.
