This summer, all eyes are on North America as the world’s most widely viewed soccer tournament plays out across 16 cities from Mexico City to Toronto and numerous stadiums in between (including Lumen Field).

As Seattle prepares to welcome visitors from around the world for the tournament, MOHAI has opened an especially timed exhibit to offer Seattleites and visiting soccer enthusiasts an international and local perspective on the sport’s cultural impact and enduring ability to bring communities together.

The Beautiful Game: How Soccer Connects Us All” explores the global power of soccer through stunning photography, personal stories and local connections. Featuring works from Magnum Photos alongside stories from Seattle’s vibrant soccer community, the exhibit highlights how the world’s most popular sport transcends borders, cultures and generations. This immersive exhibit invites visitors to explore the shared language, connection and humanity that soccer inspires across cultures and continents.

“Soccer has an extraordinary ability to connect people across cultures, languages and generations,” says MOHAI Executive Director Leonard Garfield. “This exhibit explores not just the sport itself, but the human stories, communities and shared experiences that make the beautiful game such a powerful global force.”

MOHAI connects Seattle’s past, present and future through stories that spark curiosity, civic conversation and community connection.
