Record Store Day (RSD) is a hallowed 24 hours for physical media nerds and music lovers alike. Started in 2008 to highlight the culture surrounding vinyl, independent record stores across the country swing open their doors and stuff their shelves with hundreds of RSD-exclusive releases and other rare goodies.
This year, the April 2024 Record Store Day release crop is aplenty.
Highlights include:
- David Bowieโs Waiting in the Sky, an alternative version of Ziggy Stardust
- Pearl Jamโs newest album, Dark Matter, in a limited-edition vinyl color
- A Live at the Showbox album by Death Cab for Cutie
- A special release of K-pop artist Ateezโs THE WORLD EP FIN : WILL (X Ver.)
- A new edition of Fetty Wapโs out-of-print debut album Fetty Wap
- A ton of Beatles releases
- And RSD Ambassador Paramoreโs vinyl edition of their remix album Re: This Is Why
Thankfully, Seattle is blessed with a wealth of record stores in practically every neighborhood.
