July 13th – August 12th

Let’s face it; we could all do with some more art in our lives. And if that artmaking also lets us bask in Seattle’s sweet, fleeting sunshine at the Olympic Sculpture Park, one of Seattle Art Museum’s three locations, that’s a double win in our book. Well, starting July 13th, the waterfront park transforms into a free epicenter of visual art, music, and community and cultural activities open to the public for all ages.

@theticketsea ☀️ Thursdays and Saturdays through August 12th, Summer at SAM transforms Olympic Sculpture Park into a free epicenter of visual art, music and community and cultural activities open to the public for all ages. 🎨   Thursdays from 6 to 8 pm catch evening concerts with food trucks and art making activities. Pro tip: each of these days features a different BIPOC organization that helps curate the evening’s program. On Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm ease into things with a vinyasa-flow yoga practice with Take Care Yoga before exploring the park’s ecological zones and many other learning opportunities throughout the day. @Seattle Art Museum ♬ original sound – TheTicketSeattle

This epicenter known as Summer at SAM offers a painter’s palette of ways to add some dimension to your summer days. If you’re in need of a breather at the end of yours, head over on Thursdays from 6 to 8 pm for evening concerts with food trucks and art making. Pro tip: each day features a different BIPOC organization that helps curate the evening’s program; check SAM’s website for a full list of activities! Kicking off the festivities is Wa Na Wari, but later Thursdays include a sneak peek at Nepantla Cultural Arts Gallery’s upcoming Low Rider Block Party, Live Aloha, and a preview of the CID Block Party.

Looking for a restorative way to start the weekend? Drop by on Saturdays at 9 am for a Zen-worthy 60-minute vinyasa flow led by Take Care Yoga and reconnect with your body. Don’t shy away from giving your brain a boost too—SAM facilities and landscape manager Bobby McCullough—who happens to have a very soothing miniseries with SAM called Botany with Bobby—will be offering guided ambles through the park’s four distinct ecological zones. There are plenty of other learning opportunities and tours to explore. Get out there and get learnin’ and makin’!
