Day In Day Out @ Seattle Center

You missed it! This event has passed.

If Capitol Hill Block Party had an indie sad-girl cousin, it would be Day In Day Out. This three-day music festival returns to the Seattle Center’s Fisher Pavilion for the weekend of August 12-14, boasting a lineup featuring indie cult favorites like Mitski, Mac DeMarco, and Japanese Breakfast. Queer pop-trio MUNA, who released their long-anticipated third studio album in early July, will kick off Friday night alongside Soccer Mommy, the solo project of Sophie Allison (who also recently released an album). If dancing under the sun to MUNA’s sugary-sweet lyrics about rollerblading is your idea of a good time, you’re in luck.

Indie pop is not the only item on the menu this August. The festival’s stacked lineup also features Turnstile and JPEG Mafia, who will be touring together in the fall with support from Snail Mail (though Lindsey will not be making an appearance at Day In Day Out, bummer), and Seattle legends Shabazz Palaces. The local acts alone are worth the ticket price: Northwest favorites like Naked Giants, Acid Tongue, and La Fonda will be DJing sets (not to be confused with full live performances) alongside Abbie and Evie from KEXP, Tres Leches, and Smokey Brights. Don’t forget to pack your sunscreen — it’s probably going to be a hot one.
