Too Late — You Missed It!

You missed it! This event has passed.

If Capitol Hill Block Party had anĀ indie sad-girl cousin, it would beĀ Day In Day Out. This three-day music festival returns to the Seattle Center’s Fisher Pavilion for the weekend of August 12-14, boasting a lineup featuringĀ indie cult favoritesĀ likeĀ Mitski,Ā Mac DeMarco, andĀ Japanese Breakfast. Queer pop-trioĀ MUNA, who released their long-anticipated third studio album in early July, will kick off Friday night alongsideĀ Soccer Mommy, the solo project of Sophie Allison (who also recently released an album). If dancing under the sun to MUNA’sĀ sugary-sweet lyrics about rollerbladingĀ is your idea of a good time, you’re in luck.

Indie pop is not the only item on the menu this August. The festival’s stacked lineup also featuresĀ TurnstileĀ andĀ JPEG Mafia, who will be touring together in the fall with support from Snail Mail (though Lindsey will not be making an appearance at Day In Day Out, bummer), and Seattle legendsĀ Shabazz Palaces. The local acts alone are worth the ticket price: Northwest favorites likeĀ Naked Giants,Ā Acid Tongue, andĀ La FondaĀ will be DJing sets (not to be confused with full live performances) alongsideĀ AbbieĀ andĀ EvieĀ from KEXP,Ā Tres Leches, andĀ Smokey Brights. Don’t forget to pack your sunscreen — it’s probably going to beĀ a hot one.
