2018’s Black Panther wasn’t just the first comic book movie nominated for Best Picture; it was also a cultural phenomenon that hasn’t left the zeitgeist for even a second. Not even the passing of lead actor Chadwick Boseman could take away its power, as the 2022 sequel proved with legit mad confidence. Here’s your chance to return to Wakanda in one of Seattle’s grandest halls and experience Ludwig Göransson’s Oscar-winning score live with the rousing force it deserves.

Ryan Coogler’s adaptation of Marvel’s long-running series follows T’Challa (Boseman), the newly anointed ruler of hidden African country Wakanda, as he proves that he’s worthy of the legacy his father left behind—all while facing a formidable foe in Erik “Killmonger” Stevens (Michael B. Jordan), a man whose interest in protecting Wakanda’s power honestly makes a lot of sense…save for how he hopes to achieve it. My point is that the movie still rules.

Guest conductor Anthony Parnther leads the symphony through Göransson’s innovative score, which weaves traditional African instrumentation with classical orchestration and modern beats. The result transforms this already remarkable film into, well, an orchestral…*marvel.*

💁‍♂️ Pro tips:
🅿️ Park at the Benaroya Hall garage (entrance on 2nd Ave)
🧱 Arrive 30 minutes early to find your seats and grab a drink
🎟️ Bring your Marvel-loving friends who haven’t experienced the symphony
