There’s a viral TikTok video where a little girl sings Tinashe’s song “Nasty” to her baby sister like it’s a lullaby. It’s hilarious, though it might seem off-key to some. But the singer Tinashe wasn’t much older when she began writing songs. In fact, the interlude “Deep in the Night” off her 2014 album Aquarius was penned at the tender age of five. The tiny pop star sings with an angelic voice. Still, after stints in acting and a girl group, her innocence evolved into ethereal vocals with a sharp, provocative edge—embodied in her 2024 release Quantum Baby.
@bojack514 My 2 year old daughter thinks “Nasty Girl” by Tinashe is a lullaby for her 3 week old sister 😂 @Tinashe #familytime #fyp #daddysgirl ♬ original sound – Bojack845
Catch Tinashe at Showbox SoDo before she takes a quantum timeline jump down the path of superstardom. The relatively low ticket prices offer a chance to enjoy her tunes before arenas become the stage. Fans can hope for a setlist that includes flashbacks to her mixtape days, when the singer was looking for someone to match her freak. Adding to the evening’s musical magic is opener Raveena, whose newly released album Where Butterflies Go in the Rain is a soulful, dreamy homage to tenderness and introspection. Together, the two artists will bring a night of performances that pair Raveena’s sultry, sweet ballads before Tinashe turns things Nasty.
📌 Just so you know: When locals say they are seeing someone at “The Showbox,” generally they mean The Showbox at the Market. Most of the time, people will specify the second location as “Showbox SoDo.”
