Back-to-school season have you singing the blues? The Poverty Bay Blues & Brews festival just might be the antidote. This full-day event combines three quintessential ingredients to make the most of the last summer weekend: beer, blues and the beach.
Named the Best Community Blues Festival by the Washington State Blues Society, this annual favorite event pairs around 15 breweries and cideries with four powerful Northwest blues bands for some toe-tapping, taste-testing fun on the shores of Poverty Bay.
Every ticket includes six tasting tokens so you can sip brews from the likes of Fremont Brewing, Republic of Cider and Timber City Ginger Beer as you watch a full afternoon of music headlined by the Highway 99 All Stars. You’ll find plenty of food trucks on site to keep your belly full, too.
Even better, all net proceeds from the event help fund Rotary initiatives. The main beneficiary is Highline Music4Life, which provides no-cost instruments for Highline students in need. Talk about a feel-good end to the summer.
Come early and bring a blanket or low lawn chair to make the most of this very special day celebrating local blues and brews. Think of it as your wrap party for the summer season before real life resumes in September.
