The Gregory Award-winning holiday musical, co-presented by Intiman Theatre and the Hansberry Project, is back for another year to rouse you out of your winter doldrums and get you dancing in your seat. This “Song-Play” is Langston Hughes’ Black version of the Nativity Story, reimagined while holding onto what makes the show truly sing.

Last year’s production was a true inspiration, bringing together over 30 local performers of color and a city-wide choir to tell this classic story through verse and dance. And if you get to intermission wondering what story there’s left to tell, the second half reveals itself to be a more audience-interactive portion, as you sing gospel and holiday standards with the cast and band. Don’t worry if you don’t know all the words; they’re all in your program.

Pro tip: In the spirit of the season, the show partners with Food Lifeline to feed the less fortunate. As Intiman’s Managing Director Wesley Frugé says, “This partnership is built on the spirit of abundance and the idea that we can do more together.”

Regular seats are $55 on weekdays and $65 on weekends. Student/Military/Veterans are $25. Premium seats (center, best views) are $95 on weekdays and $110 on weekends. Accessibility: ADA seating is available, as is elevator access and assisted listening devices on request.
