After three years at Fort Worden, THING Festival packed its bags, crossed Puget Sound, and set up camp at Remlinger Farms. The music and arts festival will now happen for the first time at the new venue in Carnation. THING’s event producer, STG Presents, told the Seattle Times they decided to move locations due to “revenue shortfalls” and “location accessibility factors” at its original Port Townsend digs. C’est la vie!
Despite the move, THING is still bringing its signature brand of indie-leaning music artists to a big all-ages stage. Headliners for this year’s festival include:

Rounding out the lineup: Southern Gothic indie folkster Ethel Cain, rapper Earl Sweatshirt, Unknown Mortal Orchestra‘s psych rock stylings, and bedroom popper Arlo Parks. While the live podcast and comedy sessions of THINGs past won’t be present in this festival iteration, there will be crafts markets, food vendors, creative workshops, ax throwing, a microbrewery, lantern-making, and more.
For those of you with little ones, children 12 and under get into THING for free. Parking is also free, but camping will be prohibited this year. Here’s to new beginnings!
