Day In Day Out @ Seattle Center

It’s like Bumbershoot had a baby with Capitol Hill Block Party šŸ‘¶

šŸ“ø: MUNA

You missed it! This event has passed.

If Capitol Hill Block Party had an indie sad-girl cousin, it would be Day In Day Out. This three-day music festival returns to the Seattle Centerā€™s Fisher Pavilion for the weekend of August 12-14, boasting a lineup featuring indie cult favorites like Mitski, Mac DeMarco, and Japanese Breakfast. Queer pop-trio MUNA, who released their long-anticipated third studio album in early July, will kick off Friday night alongside Soccer Mommy, the solo project of Sophie Allison (who also recently released an album). If dancing under the sun to MUNAā€™s sugary-sweet lyrics about rollerblading is your idea of a good time, youā€™re in luck.

Indie pop is not the only item on the menu this August. The festivalā€™s stacked lineup also featuresĀ TurnstileĀ andĀ JPEG Mafia, who will be touring together in the fall with support from Snail Mail (though Lindsey will not be making an appearance at Day In Day Out, bummer), andĀ Seattle legendsĀ Shabazz Palaces. The local acts alone are worth the ticket price: Northwest favorites likeĀ Naked Giants,Ā Acid Tongue, andĀ La FondaĀ will be DJing sets (not to be confused with full live performances) alongsideĀ AbbieĀ andĀ EvieĀ from KEXP,Ā Tres Leches, andĀ Smokey Brights. Donā€™t forget to pack your sunscreen ā€” itā€™s probably going to beĀ aĀ hotĀ one.
