Welcome back to Gander, Newfoundland, where the fish are biting, the Tim Hortons’ Double Doubles are always hot, and the people prove that hospitality and community can combat even the darkest of nights.

Based on real events, “Come From Away” recounts how one small town played host to thousands of stranded air travelers from around the world after the attacks on September 11. Amidst fear and uncertainty, joy and resilience prevailed as the town pulled together, and strangers became friends.

This winter, the Broadway hit is back at Seattle Rep where it made its Seattle premiere in 2015. With brand-new staging by hometown director Brandon Ivie (“Lizard Boy”), this production introduces an exciting musician-actor concept, where every performer on stage will play live instruments along with the stellar band — including guitar, fiddle, drums and more.

“I get excited about this kind of storytelling because it uplifts what’s already there,” says Director Brandon Ivie. “It allows audiences to experience the incredible text, music and lyrics in a fresh way that reveals something new.”
