When you hold a public event dedicated to the liveliest, most colorful instrumental music, it makes sense to go big. That’s my theory, and the one it appears Wintergrass 2026 will embody next weekend. This all-musicians-welcomed, four-day weekend event will feature jams, workshops and many talented performers in bluegrass, Americana, roots and acoustic music at Hyatt Regency Hotel in Bellevue.

On four stages and connecting rooms, we will see performances through the afternoons and evenings of Feb. 19 through 22. If you are a music buff, this event is for you; there will be so much creativity in the air it might be difficult to track.

There are bands like Danny Paisley and the Southern Grass, the acclaimed and chart-topping bluegrass group, performing on Thursday and Friday night. Danny Paisley is the son of bluegrass legend Bob Paisley, and according to the event program, his vocals are so beautiful they might ruin the rest of bluegrass for you: buyer beware.

There will be decorated musicians like Missy Rains, the legendary bassist and vocalist from West Virginia, who will perform on Friday and Saturday. But really, there are too many talented artists to summarize. You can see the full lineup here. And in the mornings and early afternoons before performances, there are jam sessions and workshops where aspiring musicians can learn and practice with experienced ones. For a day pass holder, this event can both educate and entertain.

Acoustic Sound, the organization behind this annual festival, made a Spotify playlist to showcase many of the performing artists before the event. Their mission is to create a community of joy, wonder and belonging through celebration and innovation within bluegrass and other global roots music expressions.

Day tickets and weekend passes are available here with variable prices for different tiers of access and discounts for students and seniors. Some are sold out, but there is a resale market with enforced fair pricing.
