📍 Woodland Park Zoo: 5500 Phinney Ave N, Seattle
The chance to experience Woodland Park Zoo after dark is back. Only instead of lions, bears, and flamingos, filling the loop are magical forest trains, unicorns, mystical tree fairies, and other fantastical lanterns. No binoculars are required to spot this menagerie of bright, glowing creatures rounded up for WildLanterns presented by BECU at Woodland Park Zoo.
“We’re very excited for another amazing WildLanterns this holiday season,” says Woodland Park Zoo president and CEO Alejandro Grajal. “It’s a fully immersive and whimsical experience that everyone of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy, even if you’ve visited in previous years! There are countless new lanterns to be wowed by this year.”
Themed zones this year include the Bright Desert Highway, complete with illuminated desert flora and fauna. Up next are Marvelous Mammals, featuring a collection of Northwest animal lanterns—see how many familiar faces you find—the Birds of Paradise zone, and Under the Jungle Canopy where you can try to spot “mischievous monkeys” playing hide-and-seek in the foliage.
