Record Store Day (RSD) is a hallowed 24 hours for physical media nerds and music lovers alike. Started in 2008 to highlight the culture surrounding vinyl, independent record stores across the country swing open their doors and stuff their shelves with hundreds of RSD-exclusive releases and other rare goodies.

This year, the April 2024 Record Store Day release crop is aplenty.

Royal Records in Queen Anne is getting the party started at 7 am at their new location with music from local artists and a special performance at 4:20 pm. Over in Ballard, Sonic Boom Records will have tees from their annual RSD t-Shirt contest available for purchase. Other spots like Easy Street Records in West Seattle, Spin Cycle on Capitol Hill, and Georgetown Records in Georgetown are all reliable spots to satisfy your RSD needs.
