The Black Trans Comedy Showcase @ SIFF Egyptian

Laughter for liberation 🎙️

📸: Black Trans Comedy Showcase

Saturday, June 10th • Doors at 6:30 pm

There are times you have to laugh away the crap. Times when resistance materializes as amusement that cackles in the face of adversity. Enter: The Black Trans Comedy Showcase, an event that uses laughter for liberation.

The electricIconicTS Madison will host at SIFF Cinema Egyptian. Comedians Mx. Dahlia Belle and KJ Whitehead will center and celebrate the Black trans life. And humor’s blunt edge will meet wicked wit during a fundraiser for the Lavender Rights Project, an organization elevating the power and autonomy of the region’s Black intersex & gender-diverse community. The night will also include a booty poppin’ performance by queen Beyonce St James, so bring y’all’s tips!

One last thing: Expect a raffle with Alaska Airlines vouchers and Seahawks tickets as prizes. Raffles are basically gambling for a good cause, so make sure you outbid the competition
