The Bellingham Symphony Orchestra launches its 51st season this fall.
With six concerts featuring internationally acclaimed guest artists, beloved orchestral masterworks and contemporary repertoire, this season will immerse audiences as intentional pairings bring new meaning to the music.
Highlights include pianist Angel Stanislav Wang, violinists Gil Shaham and Adele Anthony, cellist Amit Peled and a collaboration with Shoestring Circus during Ravel’s “Boléro.”
The season, titled “Legends & Sonnets,” builds on the orchestra’s celebrated 50th anniversary and its sold-out performance with Yo-Yo Ma, while continuing the symphony’s commitment to artistic excellence, community partnerships and accessible live orchestral music.
“This season has something for everyone, whether you love Bach and Beethoven or the big hits like ‘Boléro’ or ‘Carmina Burana’ — the latter of which we’re pairing with Grammy-award-winning video game music from composer Austin Wintory,” says BSO Executive Director Gail Ridenour.
Ridenour is particularly excited about violinist Gil Shaham appearing as a guest soloist in February. “He’s long been one of my favorites.”
Throughout the season, you’ll find joy, sorrow, relief and beauty in a repertoire that’s sure to inspire.
