Night markets are special places. Full of lights, expressive people, and all sorts of wondrous things you’d trade the coins in your purse for. Handmade soap that smells like a mixture of oak barrels and pine trees? Buy it. A shirt that says “Jesus rocks!” that you could wear ironically at your friend’s party tomorrow? Yes. IRL markets offer experiences that the usual online shopping just can’t recreate. I mean, the Tacoma Night Market has handcrafted mugs with ornamental boobs for sale. Obviously special.
Standing near the water, the beautiful glass Maritime Museum at The Foss Waterway Seaport will host over a hundred vendors with various musicians and artists all with their local stuff for saleâwhether the stuff be delicious foods, glass-woven artistry, or family-friendly drag shows. No doubt the venue is pretty, but the talent and crafts here are breathtaking.
And! Attendance is free. The only limitation is parking, so be advised to carpool, bike, walk, or run your way over here.
