The Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic presented by Alaska Airlines isn’t just a ride – it’s a challenge, a tradition, and a journey through the best of the Pacific Northwest. In its 47th year, the 207-mile ride through Western Washington welcomes 6,000+ riders from around the world. Whether you’re an experienced biker rider pushing yourself to finish in one day, a casual rider savoring the experience over two, or somewhere in between, STP provides an unforgettable adventure and countless stories.

It’s also accessible to a variety of ages and skill levels – a feat not all century rides can boast. Starting early in the morning in the UW E-18 parking lot (aka the big one north of Husky Stadium), there are numerous rest stops for food, drink, and community along the route, along with party vibes and fun traditions. There’s the essential ice cream stop in Centralia, a reward for riders nearing the halfway point, and the famous banana bread lady in Napavine, who’s been serving banana bread to thousands of riders for three decades.

The halfway point – or camping, food, shower, and beer garden spot for two-day riders – is in Chehalis, and the finish line in Portland (equipped with more food, live music, a beer garden, finisher T-shirts and badges, and a photo arch to take pictures with friends celebrating the accomplishment) is at Holladay Park near Lloyd Center.

But most of all, the ride is a fundraiser for Cascade Bicycle Club and dozens of community groups throughout Washington, such as the St. Helens High School marching band, which hosts a rest stop. So come ride together from one great bike city to another, and join 6,000 others in a celebration of camaraderie, joy, and the urban and rural beauty that make this region unique.
