October 23 â November 5
Skip your grocery run this week. Restaurants, food trucks, and pop-ups will dish their best fall bites at Seattle Restaurant Week, October 23 through November 5. Eateries from Everett to Tukwila offer thoughtful menus for $20, $35, $50, and $65âand consider a $10 Give a Meal donation to participating restaurants that produce healthy, free meals for community members and organizations.
Some things that caught my eye:
$20
For a takeout lunch in the city, go to Mamnoon. All meals include creamy labneh, fluffy pita, and harra-dusted frites. For your main, choose a wrap: shawarma-spiced chicken with roasted garlic sauce, or crispy falafel with hummus. For a lunch meeting, head to Toulouse Petit and start with the French onion soup. If youâre the sharing type, split the butternut squash & hazelnut-topped ricotta gnocchi (housemade!) and a buttermilk fried chicken Poâ-boy with a friend.
$35
Braised-all-day dishes have a homey kind of allure come cold weather. (Which, you know, will come eventually.) Maximilien is running a cozy specialâred-wine boeuf bourguignon, mashed potatoes, and a salade verte with camembert cheese. Housed in Spice Bridge Global Food Hall, Theary Cambodian Foods is dishing up herb and chili oil-topped oxtail with dumpling-like steamed egg rolls and a Chinese doughnut. Feeling lighter fare? REVELâs three-course menu offers two solid choices: as a pescatarian, Iâd go for the sweet chicory salad, the albacore tuna rice bowl with fennel kimchi, and the poached pear with brown sugar boba.
Something Special
Marimakan Seattleâs ready-to-heat dinner-for-two features spicy Singapore black pepper crab, Indonesian sweet iced tea, and a bag of five scallion buns ($130). But I really just want the dessert at Aerlume: a crisp meringue eton mess topped with chantilly cream, boozy berries, and berry coulis ($65 for three courses).
