This is what you’ll be able to chant if you’re one of the first 10,000 people to enter Climate Pledge Arena before the Kraken’s game against the Anaheim Ducks, where you’ll pick up a highly sought-after bobblehead of Seattle’s greatest he/they mascot. And with an arena capacity of just under 18k, you’ll have a pretty good shot of putting this tchotchke on your mantle next to, say, that one of Brandon Tanev being spooked by a ghost.
Buoy, meanwhile, stays winning, a bit of chaos that demands to see some damn good hockey. They haven’t reached Gritty levels of infamy, but the night is young, and there’s no telling what the next few years of Krakening will bring. Until then, their shock of wave-like hair, the single anchor earring, and that rally drum will unite us all in our quest to unleash hell upon any foolish teams who dare visit the Deep.
As for the Anaheim Ducks, what a collapse in brand and interest. Sure, they won their one and only Stanley Cup the year after Disney sold them, but they haven’t had a winning record in seven years. That’s what happens when you remove any trace of the beloved film franchise and take “Mighty” out of the team name, thereby sullying the memory of 1994 cinematic masterpiece D2. Basically, dey no good. This should be a walk in the park. And if not, Buoy will throw hands, you mark my words.
