Birthed from a burnt-out Belltown basement, Punk Rock Flea Market (PRFM) combines the DIY creativity of the upcycled with underground punk spirit. A roaming group of artists, activists, and anarchists, the PRFM provides peddlers with a temp location to hawk goods. Over Memorial Day weekend, ALMA Tacoma will host 122 vendors, three bars, plenty of eats, and DJs ready to rock. https://www.instagram.com/p/CsFj8sLrWDP/embed/?cr=1&v=14&wp=1080&rd=https%3A%2F%2Ftheticket.seattletimes.com&rp=%2Ftop-picks%2Fpunk-rock-flea-market-alma%2F#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A3992.1000000089407%2C%22ls%22%3A3495.7000000029802%2C%22le%22%3A3509.7999999970198%7D
The PRFM is all ages, so bring the whole brood. And entry is only one dollar! Which is less than any item at the dollar store nowadays. The PRFM began as a fundraiser for the Low Income Housing Institute. Though run independently now, they still contribute a portion of the proceeds to the organization after every market. This means that dollar is not only getting you in the door but also helping build them. And that’s pretty punk rock! https://www.instagram.com/p/CrVJB2-uuLR/embed/?cr=1&v=14&wp=1080&rd=https%3A%2F%2Ftheticket.seattletimes.com&rp=%2Ftop-picks%2Fpunk-rock-flea-market-alma%2F#%7B%22ci%22%3A1%2C%22os%22%3A3993.6000000089407%2C%22ls%22%3A3495.7000000029802%2C%22le%22%3A3509.7999999970198%7D
Worried you’re not punk enough to attend? The PRFM is inclusive of every color, gender, race, and class, with an anticapitalist nature that’s short on rules. So bring your inner rebel down to the City of Stank for a bazaar that won’t be reappearing until Labor Day. Doors open at 11 am on both days and it goes into the early evening, ending at 7 pm. Find everything from framed bugs (yes, you heard me right), your next fit, and of course, everyone’s favorite, FOOD.
