Bengals and ragdolls and snowshoes — oh my! POP Cats is coming to town and throwing a party for cat lovers, cat culture enthusiasts and even cats themselves.

POP Cats creates goods and experiences for cats and the people who love them. First launched in Miami in 2017 by siblings Edgar Alexander and Johana Flores, each POP Cat event partners with local animal nonprofits for adoption, education and fundraising.

For the Pacific Northwest event, Seattle Center’s Exhibition Hall will be transformed into a feline paradise, lined with cat-themed art and interactive exhibits, such as spots to make your own cat wand toy, a coloring station for all ages and even a parlor to get a temporary cat tattoo. Those who purchase ultimate and experience ticket bundles will have access to even more art-and-toy-making activities.

A gaming zone will have board games with cat motifs on hand to play with friends, as well as vintage video games with cat characters. Love a cat video? Who doesn’t! Step into the Catnannigans Cinema to watch kitties in cat cafés from all over the world and cat video clips from the super cute to super hilarious. Additionally, there will be an entire marketplace to shop for exclusive cat-themed merch for yourself and your kitty cat.

Thinking of adding a new feline member to the family? Adoptable cats will be available onsite. Not ready to adopt? You can still sit with them and get in some kitty playtime. You can even bring your own cat (see guidelines) to join in on the fun. But, if your cat would be happier hanging on the catio at home, don your best cat outfit instead — after all, costumes are encouraged!
