📆 Friday, September 1st – Monday, September 4th
⏰ 10 am – Midnight (Friday – Sunday)| 10 am – 6 pm (Monday)
📍 Seattle Convention Center: 900 Pine St, Seattle

Born from the humble origins of the Penny Arcade ExpoPAX came to life in 2004 as a gaming industry-specific show. It’s a beast that has grown as large as any video game boss. Catering to all sorts of gamers, from consoles to tabletop to VR, PAX includes numerous components such as free play, tournaments, a “Bring Your Own Computer” (BYOC) party, panels, an exhibit hall with merch—and, famously, the Omegathon, a mega tournament featuring games of all platforms and genres.

PAX badges get you access to almost all content. Unlike many other nerdy cons, there are no added fees for panels, autograph sessions, demos, and workshops.

On the weekend’s schedule is a concert featuring Bit Brigade and OFK, plus the first-ever queer EXP Cosplay Ball, with trophies awarded to winners in categories like “Nerd Fashion Realness” and “Cosplay Couture.” Another event jumping out to me is a panel on amazing Black femmes in gaming. (And a tip: If you want to see a panel, get there early, as space can fill up quickly.) If you need a break from the crowds, stop by the AFK Room. AFK stands for ”Away From Keyboard,” and it’s a staffed room that allows you to reboot

PAX badges are available as a 4-day pass—or for 71 bucks, you can grab a single-day badge. For the full schedule, visit the PAX West site or download the app.
