📅 Saturday, February 15th – Sunday, February 16th, 2025
🕐 10 am – 5 pm daily
📍 Museum of Flight: 9404 E Marginal Way S, Seattle (Tukwila)
💰 Free with museum admission
Tukwila’s non-profit Museum of Flight is a massive undertaking. Hundreds of historical airplanes on display in the cavernous Aviation Pavilion, numerous and immaculately curated rotating exhibits, and the nerdiest employees this side of NASA. The campus is so large that upon my first visit and when I saw the skybridge that would take me over Marginal Way S. into a whole other building dedicated to spacecraft, I said, “I’ll save that for next time ’cause my dogs are tired.”
But enough about big honkin’ aircrafts. What about something on the smaller side? Behold the return of the Northwest Scale Modelers Show! It’s the signature event of the museum’s eponymous informal scale modeling group (the NWSM), who regularly meet the first Thursday of every month. For two days, the T.A. Wilson Great Gallery will house the mother lode of miniatures and bigatures, from recreations of historic aircrafts to science-fiction glory beyond your wildest dreams, with a special display dedicated to the storied women in aviation history.
