Okay, so the first month of the season hasn’t gone entirely as planned. The Mets hit a near-historic losing streak, the NL Central has somehow become the best division in Major League Baseball and the Mariners power is concentrated in the bottom half of the lineup. I’m sure this’ll turn around now that Raleigh is finally connecting, Miller is rehabbing his arm in the minors and Donovan is almost past his injury spree, because there’s still so many months left.
But you’re here for the giveaways! For the free stuff, how about some jerseys? If you’d like an ’80s-style Randy Johnson jersey (in honor of his Mariners number retirement ceremony on May 2), be one of the first 20,000 fans to come through the gates at the May 1 game against the Royals; likewise, for a Julio Rodriguez ’90s jersey, come to the May 30 game against the Diamondbacks. Bobbleheads? We’ve got bobbleheads. How about one of our newly long-term-signed first baseman Josh Naylor at both May 18 and May 19 bouts against the White Sox? You more into Hello Kitty? Get a branded, clear crossbody bag on May 15 against the Padres.
Pre-arranged goodies? Behold a smattering of them. Just buy a specially priced ticket before the day of the game and head up to the third deck. Get a Grogu Bobblehead on May 4 or an Emo Night T-Shirt on May 5 (both games against the Braves). In jersey-land, get threads in the theme of Korean heritage (May 15), Croatian heritage (May 17), Taiwanese heritage (May 30), the Vedder Cup (also May 17) and good ol’ Peanuts (as in the comic strip; May 19). And most important to people like me, a special ticket for the May 18 game gets you a Mariners-themed “Survivor” hat in honor of the reality show’s 50th season.
