MOMIX: “ALICE” is a mind-bending adventure of illusion, acrobatics and whimsy inspired by “Alice in Wonderland.” Through the company’s signature mix of movement, athleticism and visual poetry, MOMIX takes audiences down the rabbit hole as Alice encounters time-honored characters including the undulating Caterpillar, a lobster quadrille, a frenzied White Rabbit, the mad Queen of Hearts and a variety of other surprises.
A strange tale of cryptic cats, dapper walruses, shape-changing mushrooms and mercury-mad hatters has inspired numerous iconic adaptations. It’s no surprise that MOMIX, a dance and visual illusionist company, has found similar inspiration in Lewis Carroll’s fantastic tale. Created by MOMIX director Moses Pendleton, “ALICE” seamlessly blends illusion, acrobatics, magic and whimsy to send audiences flying down the rabbit hole.
The Wall Street Journal says “ALICE” is “a marvelously dizzying flow of physical activities and illusions.”
Don’t miss MOMIX: “ALICE” at the University of Washington’s Meany Center for the Performing Arts. Meany Center gives the stage to diverse artists and presents performances that foster public engagement, cultural exchange, creative research and learning through the arts.
