It’s the home stretch, and us Mariners fans can just taste that postseason ambrosia, whether it’s finally toppling the Houston Astros and their dominance of the AL West or settling for a Wild Card series against, let’s say, Kansas City or the Red Sox.
Nothing is certain, though, and the team needs you to show up and cheer them on, because while Cal Raleigh just broke the MLB record for most home runs in a season by a catcher, and our top-tier starting pitchers are reuniting after a long, injury-prone season, it means a whole lot less when you miss the playoffs by a single game. (Hello, 2024!) How to entice you to show up? Giveaways!
- Get spooky with it with a “Stranger Things” jersey on Sept. 8, sip from a Hello Kitty tumbler on Sept. 9 and rock out with a Pearl Jam jacket on Sept. 10 (all games against the St. Louis Cardinals and could also net you a Logan Gilbert Funko figure).
- If you want a bowling shirt or an Oktoberfest beer stein, come to the Sept. 13 game against the Los Angeles Angels.
- At the end of the season, run like a freak while wearing your brand-new Naruto jersey on Sept. 23 or be a true Seattleite with a branded flannel on Sept. 24 (both games against the legendarily awful Colorado Rockies).
All items require purchasing a specially priced ticket online ahead of time, then heading to Section 306 to get your items, but it’s worth it for the drip.
