💰 Lion dance performance: Free to attend; Lunar New Year Fair: $0 – $17
When’s the last time you saw a lion dance? Wing Luke Museum is hosting its annual Lunar New Year Fair to celebrate the Year of the Snake, which is the perfect opportunity for families looking to start 2025 with a big dose of fresh, vibrant energy. Learn all about this holiday and its traditions, make some snake-themed art, and who knows… maybe you’ll even pick up some good luck for the new year!
Lunar New Year is observed by many Asian cultures all around the world (including here at home), and is a time when families come together to eat good food and do all kinds of lucky things to set good intentions for the upcoming year.
This event is open to all ages, with a free lion dance performance from community group Mak Fai kicking off the morning ceremony. Access to the indoor Lunar New Year Fair with arts and crafts for kids, calligraphy lessons, community booths, a scavenger hunt, and more activities are available with paid admission (with discounts offered for kiddos). While Lunar New Year activities close out at 3 pm, you can still take your time and explore the exhibits until the museum closes at 5 pm. Check out Wing Luke Museum’s event page for the full scoop on what to expect. Welcome to the Year of the Snake!
