Rodríguez has the juice to become an MLB Hall of Famer. The center fielder from Loma de Cabrera in the Dominican Republic signed with the Mariners at age 16, made his major league debut last season, then helped the team end their 21-year playoff drought with his big hits, lightning-fast speed, earnest camaraderie, and infectious smile. He’s played the All-Star Game twice already, earned the Silver Slugger Award, was the first in league history to have a 25-25 debut season (25 home runs/25 stolen bases), and in his two Home Run Derby appearances landed 2nd place (2022) and achieved “most home runs in a single round” with 41 dingers (2023).

All of this is to say that he 100% earned his 2022 American League Rookie of the Year award and his Sports Illustrated cover story, and with his 12-year contract with the good ol’ M’s, you’re going to hearing about him for a long, long time. And on August 29th, right before you witness the M’s clobber the last-place Oakland A’s, you can pick up a collectible Julio. Designed by the good people at Funko (Everett’s greatest export since Jason Webley), the Julio Rodríguez POP! collectible will allow you to take a tiny version of him home, put him atop your TV during each game as an offering to the baseball gods, and chant “Ju-li-o! Ju-li-o! Ju-li-o!” from the comfort of your couch. Maybe while eating a bowl of JuliO’s.
