The smell of mulled wine wafts through the air, spiced Christmas cookies are within reach and a cozy, contented feeling abounds — Julefest has arrived in Seattle.
From Nov. 21-23, one of Seattle’s favorite holiday traditions returns for its 48th year. Those young and old and everyone in between are invited to step into a winter wonderland for an authentic Nordic holiday experience.
But this isn’t just another holiday market. It’s where the city comes together to celebrate the season, and it’s the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit.
Wander through rows of stalls filled with handcrafted gifts and snug Scandinavian apparel. Sample traditional snacks, unique sweets and warming drinks while wending your way. Shake off the season’s gloom with a cheerful yule log, enjoy live music from a variety of performers and take in the celebratory energy inside and out at Seattle’s National Nordic Museum.
In the spirit of community, hundreds of volunteers take part in this event, and proceeds support the National Nordic Museum.
The National Nordic Museum shares Nordic culture, values and ideas with all people to inspire new futures.
🧶Bonus tip for crafters:
On Nov. 11, the Nordic Museum is hosting an event for crafters (and the craft-curious) to make handmade Nordic-inspired decorations, which can then be spotted all around the Julefest celebrations.
