Hip Hop Adult Skate @ Southgate Skating Rink

Why be a hater ho, when you can be a skater ho? 🛼

Every Tuesday • 8:30 pm

Southgate Roller Rink has remained authentic, charming, and welcoming in an ever-changing Seattle, just like the characters who glide under its disco ball. This White Center staple has theme nights galore, bringing the right kind of energy for your Tuesday night. For its 21+ Hip Hop Skate starting at 8:30 pm and going til 11, it’s $10 for entry and $5 for skate rentals. DJ bmj throws it back with Usher to newer hits like Drake. Come alone or bring a friend, you’ll find friends in the rink.

If skating isn’t your thing, karaoke can also be an option. Starting at 9 PM and ending at 2 AM and located far enough from the rink, it’s the perfect option if you want to switch things up. The bar serves some of the coldest Rainiers and whiskiest whiskeys and coke. (It’s true, I’ve tested them.) Soft-baked pretzels and other rinks snacks are available, but no outside food or drink is allowed inside.

Before the party starts, I recommend getting a scoop of ube ice cream from Full Tilt Ice Cream. And if your tummy is grumbling after those twenty laps? Sneak out for Californian-approved al pastor tacos at Taqueria La Fondita around the corner. Wait. I have another idea. Maybe leave a little early, say 10, and hit up 2 Fingers Social for tamales and Seattle dogs. If you’re lucky, a showing of Jackie Chan’s 1995 classic Rumble in the Bronx might be on. Just saying!
