On Father’s Day weekend, a beloved creative tradition returns to Edmonds. The 68th Annual Edmonds Arts Festival highlights the best artwork and artists in the Northwest region and offers fun activities for all ages, making it the perfect family outing. Wear your walking shoes — the festival has three art-filled spaces to explore.
Frances Anderson Center Play Field becomes an “artisan village” for the weekend, filling with a neighborhood of over 170 jewelers, painters, photographers and sculptors, providing excellent gift options for a dad, grad or any art lover. Musicians are also set to perform on the main stage amphitheater and tasty bites are available from a wide variety of food vendors.
Edmonds Arts Plaza offers a relaxing outdoor space with an incredible view of the Olympics and Puget Sound. This is where you’ll find work from Edmonds-area artists. Local musicians and writers also perform live in the Plaza.
The Galleries (located inside the Frances Anderson Center) house juried art. Peruse over 550 works across a wide range of media and be sure to check out the Small Works Marketplace where you’ll find small paintings, miniatures and other artisan works. Pore over the Student Art Exhibition where more than 1,100 pieces of art from local K-12 students will be displayed. And if you’re bringing little ones, be sure to visit the Kids Create area inside on the lower level, too. They’ll be able to dive into free hands-on art and crafts projects.
💁 Pro tips:
🚗 There’s no designated patron parking this year, so if you plan on going by car keep an eye out for three-hour street parking and pay lots around downtown Edmonds.
🚍 If taking public transit, Route 116 stops right at Frances Anderson Center Field, while Routes 130, 196 and 416 will drop you off nearby. You can plan your trip here.
📃 Programs are available at the information booth on the west end of the field.
♿ The Frances Anderson Center and Edmonds Arts Plaza are wheelchair accessible.
