It’s almost that time of year again. The leaves are turning gold; a crisp breeze blows through the air, and jazz music hums through the city.
This October, the Earshot Jazz Festival returns to Seattle for a celebration of jazz in all its forms. From late-night club sets to intimate performances, the festival offers music lovers over 35 events from legendary artists, emerging talents and local favorites, plus film screenings, public workshops and special projects that highlight the rich history and continued evolution of jazz in Seattle.
Revel in “Seattle’s most important annual jazz event” (DownBeat) for its 38th year and enjoy an exceptional lineup of today’s most innovative jazz artists.
🎷 Headliners Branford Marsalis and Dianne Reeves celebrate the enduring legacy of John Coltrane, one of jazz’s greatest innovators.
🎷 Two-time Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Gary Bartz brings his boundary-pushing NTU Troop anchored in traditions of Miles Davis, McCoy Tyner and Charles Mingus.
🎷 Vibraphonists Warren Wolf and Sasha Berliner, Latin Jazz Album Grammy Award-winner Zaccai Curtis, pianist and producer Kiefer and guitarist Julian Lage make long-anticipated Seattle performances.
🎷 Returning favorites include Myra Melford, Ches Smith and Michael Formanek, performing together as Splash, a new trio led by Melford; a Mingus-dedicated big band created by the boundary-pushing Skerik and drummer Mike Stone; a solo performance by acclaimed saxophonist Caroline Davis; and the sonic ritual that is Logan Richardson blues PEOPLE.
🎷 Festival attendees experience an exciting lineup of rising stars including Christian Sands and DoYeon Kim, and debuts by Dos Santos, Fonville X Fribush and Camila Ferrari.
🎷 Saxophonist Sidney Hauser takes the spotlight as this year’s festival resident artist, showcasing her versatility across three distinct events throughout the festival.
