This fall, Seattleites will experience a festival that transforms the city into a playground for modern jazz innovation and artistic exploration. 🎷From intimate venues to boisterous auditoriums, jazz music will be thrumming throughevery neighborhood and around every corner.

Hailed as “Seattle’s most important annual jazz event” by DownBeat, the Earshot Jazz Festival is where legendary artists, emerging talents and local favorites converge to create a celebration of jazz in all its forms. Celebrating its 37th year, the festival offers music lovers nearly a month of performances, premiers and special projects that celebrate both the genre’s rich heritage and its bold future.

“The balance of discovery and regional pride is what Earshot is and has been about for over 30 years,” says festival programmer Halynn Blanchard. “My vision for this year’s festival is to illuminate meaningful connections between national trailblazers and our own uniquely vibrant jazz community.”

🎺 Headliners Christian McBride and Brad Mehldau will showcase a dynamic musical dialogue in a rare duo performance.

🎺 Brooklyn-based vocalist Arooj Aftab will bring her distinctive fusion of traditional Pakistani music, Sufi poetry, ambient soundscapes and jazz.

🎺 Returning favorites include drummer-producer Makaya McCraven, harpist Brandee Younger, jazz visionary Kassa Overall, the inventive Ches Smith, the dynamic Kris Davis, the innovative Gerald Clayton and the boundary-pushing saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa.

🎺 Debut performers include Japanese pianist Miki Yamanaka, Portland-based vocalist Zyanna with George Colligan and the genre-blending corto.alto.

🎺 Trumpeter Thomas Marriott takes the spotlight as this year’s Festival Resident Artist, showcasing his versatility across four distinct events throughout the festival.

🎺 The Battle of the Bands returns with the Roosevelt and Garfield High School jazz bands facing off once again.
