📍 BIMA Auditorium: 550 Winslow Way E, Bainbridge Island
Spring is for day trips—and if you haven’t hopped on a ferry recently, this Friday is a good reason to head to Bainbridge Island for the island’s First Friday Art Walk. Held downtown each month, numerous local galleries, businesses, and museums stay open later to spotlight the neighborhood’s creativity.
This month, Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA) is showcasing:
- Kathy Ross and her mixed-media exhibit, Serious Fun
- A retrospective on master printmaker Gary Groves
- Photographs from Bainbridge Island resident Art Grice
- The work of printmaker and book artist Kumi Korf
In addition to these, there’s BIMA’s Permanent Art Collection, which focuses on the contemporary art and craft of Puget Sound. While you’re there, visit the cherry-lined room that houses the unique Artists’ Books collection.
But what’s a party without a band? After absorbing art, cut loose to the tunes of Day Soul Exquisite. The QTBIPOC-led band mixes neo-soul, psychedelic R&B, and jazz, and will be celebrating the recent release of their debut album, Sanguine & Cardamom.
The museum’s bistro will be open. A special menu will be available until 8 pm, followed by drinks for the rest of the evening.
