This is only for the cool people. Are you a cool person? Are you sure? Quick, name three cool things about you. [waits] Oh damn, you sound dope as hell. Okay, you may pass… and get in on some of the Seattle area’s concert output this May.

Monday, May 4: After two of the remaining members of Cabaret Voltaire reunited for a 50th anniversary concert, Sheffield’s finest industrial music pioneers are back on the road with guest artist Speak Machine, headed right for Belltown’s Moore Theatre.

Friday, May 8: Indie pop never sounded so friggin’ good than with The New Pornographers, a supergroup out of Vancouver that features the likes of Neko Case, Carl Newman and Kathryn Calder, plus special guest Will Sheff (Okkervil River). They’ll be playing the Showbox Market.

Tuesday, May 12: The Showbox SoDo is about to get real poetic and moody with post-punk trailblazers Echo & the Bunnymen, who’ll play their greatest hits going all the way back to their 1978 founding.

Friday, May 22: Jam your way into the mosh pit and throw the f*ck down as suburban Chicago punk outfit Screeching Weasel invade El Corazón with their catchy, bouncy bombast.

Monday, May 25: Head on back to the Moore for Dethklok, the animated death metal band from the [adult swim] show “Metalocalypse” turned flesh, with show creator Brendan Small (yeah, the “Home Movies” guy) shredding on guitar, and special guests Thrown Into Exile and Witch Ripper.

Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30: Kick off Remlinger Farms’ summer concert series with Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney of Akron’s garage rock/white boy blues staples The Black Keys, plus special guest Fai Laci.
