Last fall, Seattle Children’s Theatre posed the age-old question, “Will there be enough room?” Their popular production of “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom: The Musical,” (based on the book by Bill Martin Jr., John Archambault and Lois Ehlert) captivated kids and adults with lively music and spirited storytelling.

This year, “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” is back at the Charlotte Martin Theatre, but this time it’s wrapped in tinsel. Rather than racing up a coconut tree, in “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom: The Holiday Show” the alphabet is scrambling to decorate a giant Christmas tree. They string lights, hang ornaments and sing, dance and tumble into holiday hijinks.

With lively songs, clownish comedy and plenty of audience participation, this merry musical invites kids and grown-ups to clap, sing, dance and join in the fun as they discover that every letter and sound has a place in this sparkly celebration.

Written by Nina Meehan with music and lyrics by Austin Zumbro, “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom: The Holiday Show” is a joyful exploration of the alphabet, imagination and togetherness.
