Third Wednesdays

I admit I love when things are ALL Black. Black, Black, BLACKITY Black! And Black Carousel at Unicorn delivers. The Capitol Hill carnival-themed bar, known for Mimosas Cabaret and fancy corn dogs and pinball games and vibes (think twisted circus meets midwestern taxidermy shop), hosts this variety show every third Wednesday. Doors at 8 and shows at 9 pm. Splurge on the fried fair food and order a Unicorn Jizz cocktail.

Part of Werk Wednesdays,Black Carousel is put on by performer Londyn Bradshaw and cast, who recently brought Beyoncé’s Renaissance to life. Start to finish. No stops!!! Whew, I am tired just thinking about all that energy expended in the name of drag. Featuring stars such as Issa Man and Tinashea Monet, they celebrated the show’s first anniversary in October. Expect the melanin to be poppin’ and jaws to be droppin’ at this drag show.

Tip: Buy tickets in advance. And use the extra $5 to get VIP or booth seating. And before, book yourself an appointment at The Doctor’s Office for an intimate speakeasy drink. You can take your inner child to the doctor and the carnival. Talk about mid-week adulting.
