Too Late — You Missed It!

Improv is my favorite type of comedy. It’s like having one big inside joke between the performers and the audience. (In one Unexpected Productions show I recently went to, there was a baby in the audience—which inspired the comedians to crawl around on the stage like babies and even throw fake temper tantrums in response.)

Operating for 39 years, the improv company Unexpected Productions can be found in an easily missed hidden alcove along Post Alley right alongside the Gum Wall in Pike Place Market. The company hosts at least seven shows a week. Their Christmas-themed shows run on the weekends until December 19th, after which there will be a show every day until Christmas Eve.

They’ve got two different Christmas-themed improv shows this season: A(n Improvised) Christmas Carol and Fa la la la la, ha ha ha ha: A Holiday Musical Extravaganza. So, if you want to see a version of A Christmas Carol where Scrooge owns a hula-hooping massage parlor and you can decide his fate, check it out.
