🎟 Free to attend
📍 Alki Beach: 1702 Alki Ave SW, Seattle

Just because June is over doesn’t mean Pride is, especially since Seattle summers don’t ever seem to officially start, weather-wise, until July 5th. (How about that record-breaking run of 80+-degree days, y’all?) So for ten years running, Alki Beach has kept the party alive, letting us know we can celebrate our LGBTQIA+ citizens and organizations year-round.

All thanks for Alki Beach Pride go to wives and founders Stacy and Jolie Bass-Walden, who wanted to create a racially inclusive Pride event for the South End. While they gear the festivities toward queer people of color, it’s an event welcoming for all ages, creeds, and preferences… especially if your preference is “less chaotic than Seattle’s big one at the end of June.” Instead of fighting for space in crowded clubs and bars in the downtown corridor, what about dipping your toes in the cool blue of Puget Sound?

Word of advice: Get to the beach early if you want a prime spot, since Alki Beach Pride has steadily grown over the past decade. While this year’s vendors and entertainment have yet to be announced, past festivals have included beer pavilions, wellness sanctuaries, DJ sets, dance contests, and the Rainbow City Marching Band. As for food, expect a mix of BBQ, soul food, and desserts from over a dozen food trucks to snack on as you stroll our shoreline.
