Holidays take on a different meaning as an adult, with maybe only Halloween retaining its original glory. But if you’re looking for a no or low-pressure way to regain some of that childhood joy during February’s rosiest holiday, consider heading to the Seattle Aquarium for their annual Valentine’s Day After Hours event. This 21+ night is ideal for landlocked merfolk who love the sea or for couples who want to keep things low-key.

For this year’s event, the Aquarium is bringing back past favorites like love note activity sessions. These stations will be spots where you can write—to anyone—a note of positivity. (Maybe share a secret word of encouragement with a sea turtle in rehab or pen a line to a pal in pig Latin.) Then, during a unique scavenger hunt, spot a cephalopod or see all the sea anemones. Need more vibes? Local acoustic duo CZNS, consisting of Young-Chhaylee & Craig Suede, will play two sets. Food and drinks will also be available, so grab a cocktail while strolling through the Aquarium’s underwater dome

Heads-up: Early bird pricing is in effect for this event. Ticket prices will rise closer to the date. Add on the “I Love You Plush Package” to grab or gift an adorable sea otter plush.
