One of my favorite things to do on Mother’s Day—besides celebrating my mom, of course—is popping by Pike Place Market for their annual Flower Festival. For two days on Mother’s Day weekend, the brick street in front of the market is lined with tons of flower vendors displaying colorful arrangements of peonies, tulips, daffodils, irises, and other in-season blooms. Moms, mom figures, and their loved ones all stuff the market during the fest, sticking their noses into flowers and carrying around as many bouquets as possible. It’s a touching scene to witness!

Now in its 16th year, this spring’s Flower Festival will feature over 30 local flower farms from across King, Whatcom, and Snohomish counties. In addition to the regular Pike Place Market shenanigans, there will also be a rotation of live busker music on both days of the festival. And if you need even more incentive to roll through, Pike Place gives the first 500 shoppers who spend over $50 at the Market a free limited-edition Pike Place Market flower vase each day. So get there early!
