Too Late — You Missed It!

December 21 – 24

It’s one thing to let Santa wriggle his way down your chimney and eat all your cookies in exchange for a present or two under the Christmas tree your douchebag cat just will not leave alone. But for Seattle audiences, it’s not the holidays without a proper homecoming for two of our most popular drag queens: Jinkx Monsoon and BenDeLaCreme. Originally performed under the wonderful but admittedly cumbersome title To Jesus, Thanks for Everything! Jinkx & DeLa, this perennial favorite finds the two of them arguing over the spirit of the season (DeLa is all sunshine, lollipops, and sweetness, while Jinkx plays blowsy drunken cynicism to perfection) and all the existential crises that result, writ as large as possible. The pair are accompanied by a ridiculously talented dance ensemble that includes the likes of Ruby Mimosa, Chloe Albin, Elby Brosch, and Jim Kent.

A hearty Seattle welcome is certainly in order this year, not solely because their 2021 Seattle dates were challenged by that dreaded plague. It’s also a victory lap for Monsoon, who not only won the most recent season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars but will go from this tour directly to New York City, where they’ll take the stage as Matron Mama Morton in the long-running Broadway production of Chicago. And even if you’ve seen previous iterations of The Jinkx and DeLa Holiday Show (including the 2020 version they filmed for Hulu), they rarely repeat gags or original musical numbers. So come ready, come fresh, and have a gay old time.
