Have you ever roller-skated to heavy, psychedelic metal music improvised by musicians tripping on the sacred TeonĂĄnactl mushroom? No? Well, then, there’s a first—and let’s hope not last—time for everything. Strap on some wheels and roll yourselves silly while Seattle rock veterans Fungal Abyss—who feature former city attorney candidate Nicole Thomas-Kennedy’s husband Benjamin on drums—create an exhilaratingly infernal soundtrack that will test your equilibrium. (Loose Wing and Corespondents also appear on the bill.)

Now, typically, the music that one hears in roller rinks is upbeat, fun, and decidedly not scary. Fungal Abyss’ long, serpentine tracks—which, to reiterate, they generate spontaneously while in an altered state of consciousness—are basically the opposite of the descriptors in that last sentence… even their track called “Virile Member.” But who doesn’t crave new experiences? Cruising around in circles to disorienting, explosive rock could result in one of the greatest nights of entertainment in your life—at least while fully clothed.
