An Evening with Questlove @ Meany Hall (UW)

Lecture with a legend 🎵

UPDATE: This event has been moved to Meany Hall.

Who doesn’t have a favorite memory of Questlove? Mine is like a shadow cast upon the ceiling… part rhythm, part curve fading to Blackness. If examined from the left, it answers questions I didn’t think to ask. On the right, it’s the melody to my favorite tracks slowly winding their way into the smokestack of life.

Poetics aside, whether your favorite memory is from The Roots, the documentary Summer of Soul, or his cookbook Mixtape Potluck you’re in luck. An Evening with Questlove @ UW Public Lectures will allow you to hear from Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson himself. How often do you have the chance to sit in the room with an Academy Award-winning filmmaker, Grammy Award-winning musician, culinary entrepreneur, and New York Times best-selling author? Professor, writer, and historian Daudi Abe will moderate the lecture. And there’s a chance for questions from the audience.

Tip: This event will sell out. If you have a ticket, arrive early for the best seat. And if you don’t score tickets, they offer standby seating for unclaimed seats within 15 minutes of the start time, so don’t be late! Plus: These events are pay-what-you-can! Follow UW Public Lectures‘ Insta for details for upcoming speakers.
