When it comes to beverages, Seattle is best known for our love of coffee, but our obsession with boba must be a close second. Boba cafes have exploded in popularity in Seattle, with international chains like Donāt Yell At Me and Happy Lemon setting up shop in our city. Traditionally made with sweet milk tea and chewy tapioca pearls, bobaāalso known as bubble teaāis a refreshing drink to sip on while basking in the early spring sunlight.
Thereās maybe no better way to preemptively celebrate National Boba Day than by heading to the Seattle Boba Fest in the University District on April 27th. Now in its third year, organizers claim the neighborhood is home to Seattleās āhighest concentration of bubble tea cafes and restaurants.ā Here are some of the shops on Boba Fest’s big list.
