Too Late — You Missed It!

Saturday, April 29th • 1 – 5 pm

It’s official: 5 pm sunsets have returned. But in case you were in search of an even bigger boost of serotonin, Seattle Art Museum is hosting SAM Body & Mind: days dedicated to wellness at the Olympic Sculpture Park Pavilion to get you through the rest of winter. A lineup this stacked and soothing (and free!) is worth crawling out from under your weighted blanket for. Kicking off the event is a 60-minute Vinyasa flow yoga session to wake your body up. It’s BYO mat, so come prepared! And if the only pose you know is “down dog”—no worries. The class is hosted by Take Care Yoga, a community hub that values “progress, never perfection.”

Once you’re good and centered, it’s time for a sound bowl performance from Biom, as the International District studio makes a rare deviation from its appointment-only routine, bringing out the sound bowls and gongs for an hour-long public listening session. If sonic healing is your thing, this is the closest you can get to the Integratron without leaving the Northwest. Next, the Feels Foundation helps you go deep into yours with art activities inspired by the park.

Attend one event or all—it’s freeform. But do go early to save your spot. As the days get longer and we replace our SAD lamps with natural light after ice storms and atmospheric rivers, we could all use recovery time.

With three dynamic locations, the Seattle Art Museum has been the center for visual arts in the Pacific Northwest since 1933. Our collections, exhibitions, and programming feature must-see art from around the world. There’s so much to love at SAM!
