More than twenty years after laying their band to rest with a huge sold-out final show, mathcore masterminds Botch are back where it all began, Tacoma. To be clear, this is something I absolutely never thought would happen, so it will be pretty surreal to witness this momentous occasion as these four resurrect their signature brand of chaotic hardcore fury.
Unfortunately, this show is beyond sold out. So, if you were unable to secure yourself a ticket to this, there’s one solid option: lurk ticket reselling apps furiously. If that doesn’t get you into this one, there’s always a second chance, as you can try to find one for next week’s ALSO majorly sold out Botch shows at the Showbox.
If you’re one of the 700-or-so able to squeeze into the Spanish Ballroom, bring a little extra energy for the fantastic opening bands—the up-and-coming badass Tacoma crossover thrash band Denial of Life and the returning riff masters, Sandrider, who are set to release one of the heaviest Northwest albums of the year.
Botch got their humble start back in the early ’90’s playing basement shows and community centers all around Pierce County, so it will be a beautiful site to watch them on the grand ballroom stage, playing their hearts out for a community that will surely be screaming every single lyric right back at them.
